Does this pay period add up?

Important: this is an arithmetic checker using only the hours, hourly rates and allowances you enter. It does not determine the correct award, enterprise agreement, classification or legal entitlement, and it does not automatically calculate meal breaks, leave, super, tax, deductions, minimum engagements, split shifts, allowances you did not enter or other award conditions. It is not a legal backpay calculation.

Start with gross pay

Compare like with like

The actual-pay input is gross pay before tax and other deductions. If you compare expected gross wages with your bank deposit, tax and deductions can make a correctly paid period look short.

Use separate rate lines

Keep ordinary, weekend and overtime hours separate

If different hours attract different rates, add one line for each rate. You can add up to 20 lines. The checker simply multiplies each entered rate by its entered hours and totals the result.

Need the rate first?

Find the award rate, then bring it here

The Pay Rates Finder covers verified Australian job groups and links to the applicable Fair Work award source. Enterprise agreements or other instruments can still change the correct rate.
