Independent Australian money tools

Clear money checks, with the assumptions shown.

Check My Money turns complicated Australian pay, tax, super and workplace rules into focused tools that are easier to use — while keeping the limits of each estimate visible.

What we do

Answer one money question at a time.

Instead of one enormous form, Check My Money uses focused calculators and pay-check tools for questions such as take-home pay, tax, super, HELP, Medicare, salary packages, contractor-rate comparisons, job offers and Australian award pay rates.

The goal is to make the calculation understandable: show the inputs that matter, state the assumptions, and link to the methodology or official source when the rule needs more context.

Independent

We are not a government agency.

Check My Money is an independent website. It is not the Australian Taxation Office, Fair Work Ombudsman, a state safety regulator, a tax agent, a law firm or a financial adviser.

The tools provide estimates and general information, not personalised tax, legal, employment or financial advice.

Official-source first

Rules are modelled from public official material relevant to the tool. Where award coverage, classification, effective dates or personal circumstances can change the answer, the page says so rather than pretending one result fits everyone.

Changes are tested

Calculator boundaries, important rate anchors, site links, offline behaviour and Pay Rates data integrity are covered by automated regression checks before changes are treated as ready.

Testing reduces avoidable mistakes, but it does not turn an estimate into an official determination.

Private by design

No account is required for the calculators. Core calculations run in the browser. Custom analytics events are designed not to include entered financial amounts or typed Pay Rates / All Tools search text.

Pay rates

A job title is only the starting point.

Award coverage and classification can depend on actual duties, the employer and the industrial instrument that applies. Enterprise agreements, state instruments, junior rates, transition rules or other arrangements can change the result.

The Pay Rates Finder therefore keeps official-source links and warnings beside the result and sends unmatched roles to Fair Work's award-finding route rather than guessing.

Tax and super

Estimates are only as complete as their inputs.

Different calculators deliberately model different levels of detail. The fast homepage calculator is simpler; focused tools add inputs such as Medicare or HELP where relevant. Deductions, offsets, family circumstances, debt balances and other facts can still change an actual outcome.

Each tool should be read with its assumptions and notes, especially before making a financial or employment decision.
