How it works

From hourly or weekly pay to annual salary

The calculator converts your selected pay frequency to an annual gross figure before estimating income tax. Weekly pay is multiplied by 52, fortnightly pay by 26 and monthly pay by 12. Hourly pay uses the hours-per-week value you enter and 52 weeks.

That annual figure is then run through the same tested 2026–27 resident tax engine used on the main Check My Money calculator.

Yes. The result shows estimated annual, monthly, fortnightly and weekly take-home pay from the annualised gross amount.

Does the estimate include Medicare levy?

No. This page deliberately keeps the tax model aligned with the simplified main calculator and clearly excludes Medicare levy and other personal adjustments.

Can I enter an hourly rate?

Yes. Choose Hourly and enter your usual hours per week. The tool annualises the gross pay using 52 weeks.
